My name is Susan Schmidt and I recently retired from an incredible career in the Pembina Trails School Division.  Once I retired I wanted to become involved in an organization that cares for our most vulnerable population.  Oak Table gives all Winnipegers a place to belong and feel appreciated.

The mission and values of Oak Table spoke to me, and I became a volunteer along with my husband at the drop-in.  I soon became a member of the Fundraising Event Committee, and more recently a member of the Board.

I am proud to be associated with Oak Table, and want to invest in its success.  That is why I recently became a monthly donor.  I understand how important regular, predictable givings are to a small non-profit, and I wanted my donation to give them that stability.

Oak Table is a wonderful place that creates a safe, caring and inclusive community.  It is a great place to volunteer, and gives me the flexibility to contribute in a variety of ways.  Volunteering here meets my desire to give back to my community, participate in something worthwhile, and to make a difference!
